Transnational Networks of Singapore Cinema and Digital Media
(2021-2024)

Asian Cinema and Broadcast Research Cluster’s multi-year research project Transnational Networks of Singapore Cinema and Digital Media explores how cinema and digital media industries located in East and Southeast Asia have interacted and influenced each other, and it draws attention to the industrial networks of directors, actors, authors, technicians, genres and styles, formats, consumers, languages, and capital across trans/inter-regional contexts. Transnational Networks of Singapore Cinema and Digital Media includes seven participants (Stephen Teo, Ella Raidel, Ian Dixon, Kym Campbell, Nikki Draper, Ang Peng Hwa, and Sangjoon Lee) whose specialties are diverse: film history, screen industries, production studies, media policy studies, pedagogical studies, gender and sexuality, and performance studies. This project is funded by Nanyang Technological University’s Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information.
