BRIEF BIO

 

Chen-Hsi Wong is a filmmaker who has worked in both independent and commercial cinema. In her narrative film practice, she focuses on examining the tensions of ordinary existence within evolving urban landscapes. Her dramatic feature film debut, “Innocents” (2012), premiered in competition at the Rome International Film Festival and won several international awards, including Best Director, Asian New Talents at the Shanghai International Film Festival. Her second dramatic feature film, “City of Small Blessings”, was selected and developed at the Venice Film Festival Market, the Cannes Film Festival Atelier and the Torino Film Lab, and is currently in post-production. Chen-Hsi is an Associate Professor and Associate Chair (Faculty) at the School of Art Design Media, NTU. She received her MFA from USC School of Cinematic Arts in Los Angeles and is an alumna of Berlinale Talents and Film Independent Los Angeles.
