The ACR Lab is envisioned as a multifaceted hub for teaching, research, public outreach, and transnational networking of Asian film and media. As stated above, the ACR Lab will serve as a platform to connect Singapore’s faculty and graduate students who are interested in Asian cinema. The ACR Lab will make use of Singapore’s geographical competitiveness as a country where East, South, and Southeast Asian cinema are intertwined, and it will benefit from Singapore’s proximity to the Chinese-language film market.
